19 Facebook Post Ideas for your Winery

Most of you have a Facebook page for your winery that either you, your tasting room manager or your staff is managing. Hopefully, you've put some thought into creating a strategy and an objective for your Facebook page.

If you haven't, you might want to start by thinking about why you have a Facebook page in the first place. If the answer is because everyone else has one, or because you have to have one, you might want to think a little deeper.

Facebook is a place for community, for connecting, for sharing. It's a great way to engage your customers, and future customers, by replicating that 3-dimensional experience of your winery into a 2-dimensional platform.

After you've determined your objectives, you'll post different content to help you achieve those objectives. Here are some fun Facebook posts to try for your winery:

  1. Share an Instagram photo, Snapchat video or tweet and encourage your Facebook followers to join you on your other social networks.
  2. Post photo album recaps of special events.
  3. Share blog posts or other pages from your website.
  4. Create posts based on certain days of the week, aka #WineWednesday.
  5. Share other's content with a caption of your own thanking them for celebrating with your wines.
  6. Use the weather to creatively draw more customers to the winery.
  7. Share photos and videos of work being done in the vineyard.
  8. Post video Q and As with the winemaker, a visitor, the tasting room manager- anyone who has something interesting to say about your wine.
  9. Post photos of vineyard or tasting room updates.
  10. Share funny wine memes.
  11. Enable customers or enthusiasts to see a unique part about the location of the winery
  12. Post photos or videos of surrounding nature; flowers, wild life that shows up.
  13. Share your favorite recipes that best compliment your wine.
  14. Do a Q and A post for the wine maker. Ask your followers what questions they have for the wine maker and respond to their answers.
  15. Promote special sales, discounts, etc.
  16. Run a contest! Post a clever photo and ask your followers to come up with the best caption. The best caption wins a bottle of wine or tickets to an event, etc.
  17. Share local area news/events that help bring popularity to the region.
  18. Talk about the perks of your wine club.
  19. Vineyard dogs. Enough said.

This is just a list to help you start brainstorming! Remember, all posts should aim to engage your follower sand meet your overall social media strategy objectives.

Most important: stay true to your brand! The marketing mediums you choose to use are important, but not as important as the unique story that you tell.
